As many of you are no doubt aware, our friends in Australia are experiencing one of the worst droughts and fire seasons on record. Prolific bushfires are raging across this beautiful country and there has been extreme loss of homes, businesses, land, nature, animal and human life.
Many fires are still burning. They need our help.
At AirAsia we call Sydney, Gold Coast, Melbourne Avalon, Perth and Brisbane home. While many local communities have been devastated, most destinations in Australia remain safe and continue to welcome visitors and all airports we fly from are operating as normal. It is more important than ever to support Australian tourism. Tourism Australia is offering up to date information on impacted areas via theirwebsite.
At AirAsia we will do our part and are exploring a range of ways we can support.
All guests who are affected by the fires and who need to make alternative travel arrangements will be looked after. AirAsia will be donating RM1 from flight bookings to and from Australia up to the end of February. We are also offering to fly firefighters from ASEAN who are bravely heading to Australia to join the efforts.
